This list excludes new schools that will be required to service

the rapidly expanding areas around Cames Hill & Prestons

( new subdivisions that are being developed with total disregard

of the Airport proposal by Liverpool Council and are only 10 klm

from the cross runway on all options)

These areas would be badly affected by options A, B & C.

The EIS Supplement states that for the airport to be viable the rail link

is required, for the rail link to be viable a population increase of 130,000

would be required ( EIS Supp Vol 3. 7-16)

This would require a minimum of 20 new Primary Schools and 5 High Schools,

all of which would be within the 70 DbA zone.

Information obtained from "Preliminary Flight Paths" produced by "Airplan"

May 1997 ans EIS Supplement 1999.

This list is only the schools within 15 1dm, however other schools up to 25 klm

from the airport would also suffer from Aircraft noise as is happening in our

northern Suburbs at present.

Should this Airport be allowed to proceed large numbers of students would suffer

As the primary reason to build this airport is to allow for privatization of the airports

I doubt that we would have much hope in getting these schools insulated and

air-conditioned once the airport is in private hands.

We would also not have the electoral power that the residents around

Kingsford Smith have.

Can your child learn anything with 400,000 pounds of thrust directly over their school?
